Ivory Rabbits
When I returned to collecting, I enjoyed scouring other collectors websites and discovering the Japanese families that I'd had no clue existed. I never harboured any ambition to own any because they seemed unlikely to come up in the UK and when they do they are very expensive. However thanks to all that browsing, when a lot of rabbits came up on eBay labelled as Butterglove rabbits, I knew at once that at least two were JP Ivory rabbits instead. I snapped them up at a very good buy it now price before anyone else realised there was a bargain to be had. I was thrilled to find that as well as a father and brother from one of the first two releases, there was also a father from the Millennium release.
Update: It never rains but it pours! I'd missed out on a complete original family on an ebay auction and immediately regretted it and wished I'd bid more so that I could add the mother and sister to my family. However, not long after that the whole family appeared on ebay including all three babies at an excellent buy it now price. I snapped them up only to find a week or so later the same seller was selling them again, this time with both types of standing baby. It was a dream to own these standing babies as I think they are some of the cutest babies out there. I'm so thrilled to have them in my collection. I intended to pick and choose from all the sets to make one family but as the mothers and sisters were in different dresses I decided to keep both families. I chose a specific Biblical theme for their names and had fun adapting some to make enough girls names! Neither of the sisters have their original clothes although both are in Japanese clothes.
Update 2: I had thought that both Ivory rabbit families were complete but then I saw a non-jointed baby rabbit girl for sale on KobeeJapan so decided Esau's family needed another baby. Once she arrived I realised that she had a different head shape to Eli and on consulting the forums found that she would have been the correct one to go with the family and Eli would have originally come from a carry case.
